We have strong links with the parish of St Helen’s Church. Fr. Patrick leads a weekly assembly and contributes to some RE lessons. The whole school visits St Helen’s for significant festivals throughout the year. The Governing Body also consists of Foundation Governors, who have responsibility for upholding the Christian ethos of the school.
Our Christian values of: Understanding, Peace, Forgiveness, Love, Kindness and Wisdom form part of our everyday life at school and are woven into our learning.
The School follows the locally agreed Oxfordshire Syllabus. Please find a link to this below.
RE is taught as part of the creative curriculum and as a timetabled subject. Children learn about Christianity in addition to a variety of other world faiths. They are encouraged to ask questions, make comparisons between beliefs and practices and offer personal responses. RE enables children to learn that modern Britain is both multi cultural and multi faith.
We gather together for whole school worship three times a week. There are class reflections twice a week to follow up on the termly value or listen to children’s prayers. Children learn about Christian values through Bible stories, festivals, comparisons with other world faiths and reflections.
