Welcome to the Friends of Benson School (FoBS) section of the school website.
We are lucky to have a thriving PTA at Benson, however, we are always looking for parents and carers who are able to offer time to help run our fundraising activities – you can give as little or as much time as you like! So if you have any questions or you are interested in joining the team, please contact the FoBS committee by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message with the school office on 01491 202502.
We are so lucky with having so many people on our FoBS team, helping wherever they can, juggling their children and giving their time. Having such a big team means that we are able to provide so many more fun activities and events for our children, whilst raising funds to provide all those extra items that budgets cannot stretch too.
FoBS are pleased to announce the launch of our new handbook. A useful guide to FoBS, what we do, how much money we raise and how we are spending the money.
We have got the new year off to a cracking start and in Term 1 have held a Uniform Sale, Chocolate Bingo night and collected Bags2School.
Christmas cards and mugs orders have gone in and FOBS were shaking buckets at the Wallingford 1155 Bonfire and Fireworks Night on Saturday 4th November, generating £1,000 for the school!
Any donations welcome of logo uniform or basic uniform for sale or support by FoBS with all profits going to FoBS funds.
We are also collecting for the NASIO Trust – Red gingham summer dresses (or blue if you have them hanging around!). The NASIO Trust is a registered charity based in Chalgrove and working in Kenya and Tanzania. You can read more about their work here http://www.thenasiotrust.org
Do you use a PRINTER at home or work?
If so FOBS can make ££££ with your empty PRINTER CARTRIDGES!
It’s really simple!
When your cartridge is empty
As well as recycling old printer cartridges, we are now able to recycle your old mobile phones, please leave any unwanted phones in the same box as the printer cartridges by reception at school. There is also a box at the Benson library.
Want a simple way of labelling your child’s clothes AND raise money for FOBS?
FOBS have teamed up with Easy2Name who specialise in stickers, iron and sew on labels etc.
Easy2Name are offering 20% cash back on all orders placed. There is no additional cost to you.
To order go to: www.easy2name.com or see the leaflet in bookbags.
Please select “Benson CoE Primary School OX10” to ensure we get the cashback!
Please note you need to log out of The Giving Machine to qualify for the cash back offer.
Using the Giving Machine could not be easier with the new and improved ‘shop and give’ button. Click on this link and it will remind you when you are doing your on-line shopping to give for free to the school. We have raised nearly £1000 so far using this, no one can see how much you are giving, FoBS just gets a total, so it is private and costs you nothing!!
Please spread the word to friends and family about the Giving Machine.
Some of the usual term 1 and 2 plans are in action – the Disco, raffle, present shop, Christmas cards, nativity teas….
You will be pleased to know we have invested in another film license for the New Year and will be running more film night events over the Autumn/Winter/Spring.
